Your DIY Facial Checklist: 3 Easy Steps to Doing Your Own Facial

Staying at Home this Month?

We get it. With CoVid19 still rearing its head, staying in is cooler than hanging out this month. Even though you're postponing your facial appointments, you can still pamper your skin with a little DIY facial in the comfort of your home.

STEP 1: CLEANSE + EXFOLIATE

A good exfoliation removes dead skin cells (aka keratin) that lead to dull skin and hastens skin cell turnover. PLUS - it prevents dead skin cells from clogging pores and turning into blackheads, whiteheads or (gasp!) that dreaded pimple. Exfoliation also improves product penetration - so that expensive serum or cream that you're using can be absorbed INTO your skin and not stay on the surface.

Our Recommended Exfoliators:

(For normal, oily or combination skin)

Phyris Skin Results 20, Phyris A'Peel, SkinOrigin Active Repair Essence

(For all skin, especially delicate skin)

Phyris Ferment Peeling

Caution: Over-exfoliation can lead to skin sensitivity and delicate skin in the long run. In general - it is best to exfoliate once a week unless advised by your skincare professional.

STEP 2: SOMI + SERUM UP

We love the Phyris Somis as they really help improve product penetration while also delivering specific results to suit our skin's demands. Applying a layer of Somi before your serum and moisturizer will ensure that you're reaping maximum benefits from your skincare routine.

After Somi, it's time for the main event - a serum! Choose one that suits your skin demands - hydration, brightening, repair or anti-ageing. As above - choosing a serum that has smaller molecules will allow for better penetration.

Our recommendation: Phyris Time Release Serum Range. Choose from its 6 different liposome-encapsulated serums that can penetrate deep into your skin. These hard-working serums have a 24-hr Time release formulation, so they'll work all day to deliver their serum goodness to your skin.

What if you want something even more luxurious and concentrated? Ampoules are the answer.

PHYRIS ESSENTIAL AMPOULES

Used in our professional treatments - these pretty vials of concentrated skin-loving formulas can be used at home as well! Comes in 6 different formulations to address all skin concerns.

Step 3: MASK ON

Time to seal in all the skin-loving ingredients and take a nap! (Or just Netflix & chill) Yes, it's mask time. You can choose from all sorts of masks these days - gel masks, cream masks or sheet masks... just make sure it's good quality so that you're not harming your skin instead.

Our Recommendation: Phyris Hyaluron Sensation Mask  (hydrating), Phyris Vitamin Depot (brightening), Phyris Collagen Depot Mask (Firming)

And if you’re into sheet masks - we LOVE the Bio-cellulose Regeration Mask, an all-rounder, super hardworking mask that helps to detox, oxygenate and hydrate skin.

Tip: You can do a multi-tasking facial by choosing a serum and a mask that delivers different results. Eg. A brightening serum can be combined with a hydrating mask, so your skin will look bright & dewy.
