Once the colour and location of the emotion has been established, ask your child "If you wanted to make this emotion feel weaker, how might the colour change? Where in your body might you feel it less?"
Allow them to play around with this until they notice the emotion has lost its hold (if it were a negative) or strengthened (if it were a positive).
